Smoking restrictions in work places and public places are in effect in the City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County in order to reduce the public's exposure to harmful toxins contained in environmental tobacco smoke (ETS). This page is intended to raise awareness, assist in the implementation of the Evansville and Vanderburgh County smoke free ordinances, and includes information we hope will be useful to businesses and the general public.

The Health Department offers a smoking cessation program for all City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County residents. Eligibility requirements include: 18 years or older, not pregnant, smoke at least one-pack per day, obtain a doctor’s permission slip, attend four (4) one-hour classes. A six week supply of nicotine patches are included at no cost to the participant in this program.
