Lloyd Winnecke was elected the 34th Mayor of Evansville in November of 2011. Mayor Winnecke is an Evansville native coming from a successful career in business and government, holding numerous top management positions in both the private and public sectors.

His work as Senior Vice President and Marketing Director for Fifth Third Bank taught him the business skills he brought to city government. Prior to joining the bank, Lloyd spent 17 years in television news, most recently as News Director at News 25.

In the public sector Winnecke was elected a County Commissioner in 2008 and served as President of that body. Prior to that he served nine years on the Vanderburgh County Council, including three years as president and one year as finance chairman. As a county official he balanced budgets for 11 straight years and held per capita spending to 43% below the state average. He has never lost an election.

Winnecke is a graduate of Central High School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from the University of Evansville. He is married to former Vanderburgh County Commissioner Carolyn McClintock, who is a real estate agent with FC Tucker Emge Realtor. He is the father of one daughter, Danielle, who resides in Tucson, Arizona with her husband Steve and their sons, Holden and Oliver.

Lloyd and his family are members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and he is an active member of the community. He has served on the Boards of Evansville Civic Theatre, Gilda’s Club of Evansville, the American Red Cross, the Evansville African American Museum and the University of Evansville Purple Aces Club. He also serves on the executive committee of the Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana and the ITAC (city-county information technology committee).

He is a past board member, and remains a volunteer, for the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center and is a past cabinet member for the local United Way campaigns. Other past organizational involvement includes the Parks Foundation, University of Evansville Theatre Society, the Reitz Home Museum, USI Arts and Humanities and Junior Achievement.
