Administrative Responsibilities of the City Clerk's Office
Issues notice of meetings including City Council and committee meetings; transcribes and keeps the minutes of City Council meetings; delivers to the Mayor ordinances and resolutions which require the action of the Mayor; keeps the corporate seal and affixes it to documents required to bear it; files originals of ordinances to be considered by the City Council; publishes the Municipal Code and maintains copies of the Municipal Code; files bonds for the protection of the City.
Parking Enforcement - Patrols assigned areas and issues tickets for violations; maintains and repairs parking meters and immobilizes vehicles with numerous violations.
Parking Meter/Administration - Processes and enters tickets written by Meter Police and Police Department; collects monies for parking fines; maintains radio communication with Meter Police.
City Ordinance Violations - Processes citations issued for violations of the Municipal Code; collects monies for ordinance violations; ensures City representation and proper witnesses for court proceedings; prepares court documents for filing all small claims for the City.
