Welcome to the Department of Transportation & Services

Hi!  I am Ed Ziemer, the Executive Director of the Department of Transportation and Services.  I’d like to welcome you to our website!

We have designed this site with you in mind.  You will find information on the Department of Transportation and Services, the Board of Public Works and the six sub-departments we are responsible for.  These departments are Street Maintenance, Traffic Control and Engineering, Animal Care and Control, Metropolitan Evansville Transit System (METS), City Cemeteries (Locust Hill and Oak Hill) and Urban Forestry.  As you can see, the Transportation and Services Department plays a large and diverse role in maintaining and enhancing the transportation infrastructure and public services of the City of Evansville.

Each sub-department is listed on the menu to your left.  Please feel free to visit each page to find a description of the specific responsibilities of each department.  You will find several useful links that will provide up to date information about on-going projects and programs. In addition, we have included contact information that will allow you to let us know how we can best meet your needs.

Sincerely,
