Clean Evansville Teams to Pick-up Trash Around East Side Shopping District Nov. 3
Posted Date: 10/26/2012

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and Clean Evansville volunteers will return to the East Side Saturday, November 3rd, from 9 to 11 a.m. to pick-up trash around one of the city’s busiest shopping districts before the holiday shopping season.

Six clean teams will target the area bounded by Green River Road, Morgan Avenue, Burkhardt Road and the Lloyd Expressway. Volunteers will also pick-up trash along Oak Grove Road, Vogel Road, Columbia Street and Virginia Street.

Team 1 will be led by Mayor Winnecke and David Herrenbruck from Fifth Third Bank; Team 2 by First Lady Carol McClintock and Philip Hooper, director of the Department of Metropolitan Development; Team 3 by Clean Evansville committee chair Timothy Weir from Accuride and Ward 3 City Councilwoman Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley; Team 4 by Brian Emmons from Veolia Environmental Services; Team 5 by Patricia Jackson from Vectren; and Team 6 by SMG General Manager Darren Stearns.

Each team has been assigned a different starting point within the clean-up area. All volunteers will gather at Sam’s Club parking lot, 6700 E. Virginia St., around 10:30 a.m., to see how much trash they have collected before Allied Waste hauls the refuse to the landfill.
