POSITION: Deputy Director
RATE: $54,551.44 annually
DEPARTMENT: Administrative Services

Performs professional work in the Human Resources department including; FMLA administration, EEO reporting, training, job audits and analysis, wage surveys, conducts various investigations, contract negotiations and administration and labor/employee relations. Represents the City at job fairs and other recruitment events. Provides technical support to payroll function regarding the HRIS system. Administers the attendance control program for Teamster represented employees. Responds to all Unemployment Insurance Division requests and represents the City at hearings. Supervises the Administrative Services staff and performs other related duties assigned.


Must have full range of specialized knowledge of human resource principles, theories and methodology developed by a Bachelor’s Degree in HR management or related field and at least 3 years experience in the HR field and a PHR or SPHR designation. Practical knowledge of IT systems including hardware & software applications, prior hands on experience with a HRIS and must have prior work experience in labor contract administration. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to communicate effectively and tactfully to a wide range of individuals.
