Contractor Acknowledgement of Responsibility

You verify that it is the responsibility of the Owner(s)/Contractor(s) to set up a time with EWSU personnel to set the meter and be present for meter installations. If Electing to be absent during meter installation, then Contractor and/or Owner(s) acknowledge that water will be left off in the pit and it will be the Contractor and/or Owner(s) responsibility to turn water on and verify the plumbing has been properly connected. EWSU will not be responsible in making repairs for any loss or any damage sustained to the connections during the water being turned on by the Contractor and/or Owner. Upon installation, each water meter must be inspected by Meter Department staff for a pit inspection and if Inspection does not pass, then the meter will be pulled with services remaining off until further notice. If electing to be absent during water being turned on, then it is the responsibility and liability of the Contractor/ or Owner of any unknown or unseen damages at the time of services being turned on or at the point of installation. You further agree that no work will be initiated until all inspections and meter fees have been paid by the Owner/Contractor to Utility Customer Service. Fees will not be considered as paid until Utility Customer Service has received and posted them to the Owner’s account.
