1. Workforce Belonging - This award goes to a business or organization that has been successful in achieving a workforce that welcomes all people from various walks of life. How does the organization embrace, celebrate and promote fairness for all people in its workforce? Does it have employees from marginalized communities to include people with disabilities in senior management positions? How is ensuring belonging involved in the organization’s initiatives and long-term planning?

2. Development (Willie Effie Thomas) - This award goes to an individual who has implemented a successful program that involves lifting a wide-variety of people in the community, effective programs that prioritize belonging, or special programs that celebrate uniqueness amongst people.

3. Community Relations (Sue Woodson) – This award goes to an individual, business or organization that has achieved exceptional success in developing activities which encourage and support inclusion around community relations. Do they advocate for an accepting community? Do they lead or support community projects? Do they encourage volunteerism that supports community belonging?

4. Leadership – This award goes to a business or organization that has developed supportive strategies for belonging throughout an organization or community. How does the vision or mission of the business or organization mention, support or encourage belonging within their organization? How does the board best represent the community’s population? How do the top management or leadership exceed expectations regarding employee representation and inclusion? Does the organization support the inclusion of all vendors and suppliers?

5. Sadelle Berger Award – The top award honors the tireless work of a true community advocate who values others and advocates for fairness, inclusion, and respect for all in the community. The special award recognizes an individual, business, or organization exhibiting the highest commitment to human rights of all people. How has the nominee advocated for the rights of all in our community particularly for those whose voices might not be otherwise heard? How have they worked for human rights for all going against tradition or opposition? How are they respected for doing what is fair and just? How do their decisions and practices exhibit an unwavering commitment to belonging, inclusion, and respect for all in our community?
