City to Install Splash Pad at Tepe Park
Residents of the Tepe Park neighborhood have a new splash pad to look forward to this summer.
Danielle Crook, Evansville’s Executive Director of Parks & Recreation, presented plans for the new splash pad to the Board of Park Directors at its meeting this afternoon. The project – which is the third significant park improvement announced this year, after new play spaces at Garvin Park and Fulton Park - is being funded by the $24 million Parks Bond passed in 2024.
Work on the project is expected to begin this spring, with equipment arriving in June and the splash pad opening as soon as installation is complete.
“As we continue our work to revitalize neighborhoods throughout Evansville, one of the key elements is ensuring that every neighborhood has access to safe, beautiful parks,” said Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry. “Whether that means the new, safer playground equipment in places like Garvin and Fulton parks, or access to new aquatic facilities like this Tepe Park splash pad, my administration will continue to work to improve our parks and recreational facilities, ensuring they are benefits to our residents and amenities we are proud to show off to visitors.”
The Tepe Park splash pad will achieve a vision first articulated years ago, as part of the Tepe Park Neighborhood Plan. This year, it came together through a partnership between the Department of Parks & Recreation and the Evansville Water Sewer Utility.
Work on the project will be overseen by Morley & Associates, with equipment ordered from Playpros.
