EVANSVILLE, Ind. (July 17, 2018) – EnCom Polymers, Inc., a rapidly growing custom compounder of high performance polymers serving multiple industries, announced plans today to expand its headquarters here by integrating volume from out-of-state production locations to Evansville, creating 56 new jobs by 2021.

The privately-owned business will invest $2.4 million to purchase and renovate its existing 58,000-square-foot headquarters at 4825 N. Spring Street in Evansville that it is currently leasing. In addition, EnCom will invest $8.3 million in state-of-the-art laboratory and production equipment to produce their custom formulations of high performance polymers in-house. The company plans to have its first production line in Evansville installed and operational during September of this year, with additional lines being installed soon thereafter.

EnCom currently employs 14 Evansville-based associates with plans to expand their team to 56 over the next 3 years. The company plans to hire 17 positions immediately in manufacturing and professional services. Interested applicants may apply through Indeed.com. The company is confident their centralized Evansville location will allow them to both continue their accelerated growth and provide world class polymers with impeccable service.

EnCom leaders thoroughly investigated other options and determined our community is the best place for the company’s future growth and prosperity.”

To encourage the investment and job creation, the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville recommended before Evansville City Council an incentive package including 7-year Tax Phase-In on both real and personal property investments the company intends to make and a grant, not to exceed $25,000 for training assistance; requiring 50/50 match and applicable only to Evansville residents hired over the first 2 years of project implementation.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) offered EnCom Polymers up to $550,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company's job creation and investment plans. These incentives are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives.
