City of Evansville and Southwest Indiana Workforce Board Host Third Annual Summer Resource and Job Fair

Evansville, Ind. — March 31, 2026Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry and the Southwest Indiana (SWIN) Workforce Board invite students and families to attend the city's third annual Summer Resource Fair on Sunday, May 3 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at EWSU Water Pump Station, 1200 Waterworks Rd. This free event will help connect local youth with enriching opportunities for the summer season.

The fair will highlight both private businesses and nonprofit employers offering jobs, camps, childcare options, and enrichment programs to keep Evansville’s children, teens, and young adults engaged and supported throughout the summer months.

“We know that when young people have access to safe, structured opportunities, our entire community is better,” said Mayor Terry. “Whether it’s a job, camp, or a mentorship program, these experiences keep our youth engaged, supported, and on a positive path. This fair is about making sure every child has that opportunity.”

Representatives will be on-site to share information, answer questions, and help families find the right fit. Attendees can discover a range of opportunities in academics, athletics, arts, employment, and more.

“Connecting young people to meaningful work experiences early is critical to building a strong talent pipeline for Southwest Indiana,” said Sara Worstell, Executive Director for SWIN Workforce Board. This fair is about more than summer jobs—it’s about exposing youth to career pathways, developing skills, and supporting employers in meeting their future workforce needs.”

My Summer Ride badges will be available at the event for all youth aged 18 and under, as well as students over 18 who are still enrolled in high school. These badges allow students to ride the METS bus for free, helping reduce transportation barriers that can prevent young people from accessing jobs, summer programs, libraries, parks, and other vital community services. Students who may appear older than 18 should be prepared to show school ID or a report card when picking up their bus passes.

The Summer Resource Fair is part of Mayor Terry’s commitment to Youth Development, a key pillar of her administration’s strategic priorities, by ensuring that every young person in Evansville has access to programs that help them learn, grow, and thrive.

The event is open to the public, and no registration is required. Employers interested in reserving a table should register by April 24 at Bitly | bit.ly/4lVx9f1, before all tables are filled.
