Public encouraged to participate in survey for 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan
(August 6, 2019) — The City of Evansville is developing its five-year (2020-2024) Consolidated Plan for federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The Plan is required for continued federal funding from the following formula block grant programs: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program, and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program.
The Consolidated Plan process requires local jurisdictions to engage with the community to assess their housing and community development needs and market conditions in order to make data-driven, place-based investment decisions.
Community engagement and citizen participation is achieved through several methods during the consolidated planning process including surveys and public meetings.
Most of the elements in the plan are designed to benefit low and moderate income populations in the City of Evansville. However, the consolidated planning process also affords the City an opportunity to strengthen its partnerships with other governmental and private sector entities.
The goal is to provide a plan that helps establish and maintain suitable living environments and extend economic opportunities to all residents.
As a citizen of Evansville, your opinions will count during the development of the Consolidated Plan. Please take the survey and make a difference.
If you are unable to complete the online survey, please visit the Department of Metropolitan Development, 1 NW Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., room 306 Civic Center Complex, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
