ATTENTION!!  Landlords who own residential rental properties MUST register their properties annually. The 2021 deadline is May 10th.

3 ways to register rental property:

  1. ONLINE: Register at the rental registry website at https://rentalregistry.evansville.in.gov/.
  2. MAIL-IN: Print the registration form from the website above and mail it to:
    Evansville-Vanderburgh Building Commission
    c/o Sherry Schapker
    Civic Center Complex Room 310
    1 NW Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
    Evansville, IN 47708.
  3. DROP OFF REGISTRATIONS: A registration station will be available on the 3rd Floor outside of Room 310.  

Owners needing help with their registration must call 812-436-7887 to schedule an appointment or register online.  Masks must be worn during the appointment.

In an effort to assist the Evansville Police Department in promptly contacting owners of rental property within the city limits, the Evansville City Council, the Police Department, and landlords and tenants worked together to create a registry of accurate contact information.

Annually, all single-dwelling and/or multi-dwelling rental property owners MUST register online or register at the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Building Commission Office. There is a cost of $5 per rental parcel or rental community.  To avoid any possible late fees, the form must be submitted by the deadline below. 

A new owner or agent information must be reported to the Building Commission.

Important Information when registering:

  • You will need the parcel address listed on the tax bill.
  • Set hours for walk-in registration are 8 to 11AM Monday through Friday on days the Civic Center is open.
  • Owners with 10 or more properties must call for a personal appointment or register online.
