IHCDA Announces Tax Awards for 120 New and Renovated Affordable Housing Units

Homes of Evansville II was awarded $1 million in Rental Housing Tax Credits and $500,000 from the Development Fund for new construction of 30 single family homes on vacant and abandoned lots and one 30 unit multifamily building in Evansville by HOPE of Evansville. 20% of the units will serve those with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The new housing will be built on property that was held by the Evansville Land Bank in the center city area, primarily in Tepe Park. The project is an example of targeted land banking by the city administration.

Evansville Townhomes was awarded $1 million in Rental Housing Tax Credits and $500,000 from the Development Fund for the rehabilitation and preservation of 30 existing affordable units and new construction of 30 multifamily units by Advantix Development Corporation (Evansville Housing Authority).  The new housing will be built adjacent to the new Silver Birch assisted living community at Governor and Canal streets.
