Precautionary boil advisory lifted on East Side

(June 9, 2019) — ** UPDATE ** The precautionary boil advisory has been lifted for Evansville Water & Sewer Utility (EWSU) customers on the East Side.


(June 6, 2019) — A precautionary boil advisory has been issued for Evansville Water & Sewer Utility (EWSU) customers who are experiencing low water pressure on the City's East Side.

Equipment failure at a water hydrant on Lincoln Avenue has affected customers in an area roughly east of Green River Road and south of Lynch Road.

EWSU crews are working to make repairs and water pressure should be fully restored by Thursday evening.

While the potential for contamination is likely, the precautionary boil advisory has been issued until Sunday.

The advisory has been issued for Lynch Road and Hirsch Road to the Vanderburgh - Warrick County line, south to Newburgh Road, west from Burkhardt Road, east to the Vanderburgh - Warrick County line and Grim Road, Green River Road and Lincoln Avenue north to the Lloyd Expressway, and east to Burkhardt Road.

EWSU is advising customers in the affected area to bring all cooking and drinking water to a complete boil for five (5) minutes before using.
