Mayor Winnecke's 2020 Budget Adopted

(October 14, 2019) — Mayor Lloyd Winnecke's proposed 2020 Budget was adopted at Monday night's Common Council meeting.

Council members voted 8-1 in favor.

"Our citizens expect local government to run smoothly,” said Mayor Winnecke. “They also expect a balanced budget. Because of the collaborative efforts between our administration and City Council, this budget meets those expectations."

The adopted budget for 2020 addresses key capital projects prioritizing public safety and quality of life for residents, including:

  • an aerial ladder fire department truck;
  • 10 police department vehicles;
  • Mesker Park Zoo penguin exhibit funding;
  • Walnut Street road project funding;
  • funding for road resurfacing;
  • Deaconess Aquatic Center construction funding;
  • funding for the blighted property program;
  • and an additional contribution to the Affordable Housing Trust Fund.
