Broadway Avenue to Close for Water Main Replacement Project Starting November 4

(October 31, 2019) On Monday, November 4, 2019, BMB Construction is scheduled to close Broadway Avenue to through traffic between Schutte Road and S. Red Bank Road to begin work on a water main replacement project. Work will be performed on the section of Broadway Avenue between Johnson Lane and Speaker Road.

Local traffic will be allowed on Broadway in both east and west directions; however, motorists should expect delays. A single lane of traffic will be open on Broadway during the work day, and the contractor will be flagging traffic. Both lanes on Broadway will be open in the evening.

The $2.7 million Broadway Avenue Water Main Replacement Project will include the installation of over 11,000 feet of new 6-inch to 12-inch water main pipe along Broadway Avenue from Schutte Road to S. Red Bank Road, as well as along Frey Road from Broadway Avenue to the end of the public roadway. Related improvements include new valves and 26 fire hydrants throughout the corridor. The project is expected to be substantially complete in July 2020, weather permitting.
