Forward Together Grant

Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry announced today that her administration is now accepting applications for Cycle 2 of Forward Together grants.

Mayor Terry created the Forward Together initiative in 2024 to strengthen local nonprofit efforts aligned with the Citys priorities of neighborhood revitalization, public safety, and poverty reduction. This year, eligible nonprofit organizations may apply for up to $35,000 in funding to support programs in one or more of the following categories:

   Home Weatherization

   Food Access

Services for people experiencing homelessness, and

   Literacy.

Forms required for the application include:

The following requirements must be met for consideration:

1. Must be a City of Evansville based organization or provide direct services to City of Evansville residents.
2. Must be a registered 501(c)(3) organization with a Board of Directors.
3. Eligible uses of funds include payroll and benefit costs, utilities, rent, insurance, and other operating costs. For project-specific applications, supplies and materials necessary to carry out the project may also be purchased. These costs must be clearly detailed in an itemized budget submitted with the application.

Some supporting documents are not required for initial review but may strengthen the application. However, applications missing required documents and without explanation will not be scored or considered for funding.

Submission of an application does not guarantee funding. All applications will be reviewed equitably by a committee appointed by the Mayor. Final funding decisions are at the sole discretion of the City.

The application deadline is Friday, September 19, at 5:00 p.m. A completed application is comprised of both the application form and a completed W-9 form.

Completed applications should be submitted via email to Ariah Leary, Director of Community Affairs and Special Projects, at aleary@evansville.in.gov.

All grant proposals will be reviewed by a volunteer committee before receiving final approval from the Mayor’s Office.
