Public Art Commission

On May 1, Mayor Stephanie Terry announced the re-convening of the Evansville Public Art Commission, which oversees Evansville’s public art collection and advisesthe city on policies related to the acquisition, display, and maintenance of permanent public art.

“Public art tells our story, sparks conversation, and transforms our shared spaces into places of pride and connection,” Mayor Terry said. “It plays a vital role in neighborhood revitalization and enhances our quality f place, making Evansville a more vibrant and welcoming city.

“Revitalizing the Public Art Commission ensures that art remains a defining part of our community’s identity and future.”

The Commission, which chaired by Sarah Shuler, principal architect at VPS Architecture, will meet as needed.
