The Vanderburgh County Engineering Department is located on the third floor of the Old Vanderburgh County Courthouse and is under the jurisdiction of the County Board of Commissioners.  Our employees work closely with other local, state, and federal agencies; utility companies; land developers; contractors; and consulting firms.

The Department:

• manages and oversees road repair and resurfacing contracts, and also works with consultants on road reconstruction projects
• oversees the bi-annual County Bridge Inspection Reports
• maintains the inventory of roads accepted and maintained by Vanderburgh County
• reviews road plans for all new subdivisions within the unincorporated areas of the County
• inspects ongoing road and drainage construction in new subdivisions.
