More Information
Evansville Brownfields Corp.
Evansville Brownfield Corporation (EBC) is a city-funded, separate, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was originally formed to find new uses for distressed properties within the City of Evansville.
The EBC acted as the city “land bank” until 2016 when legislation enabled the creation of land banks for second-class Indiana cities, like Evansville. (Second-class is a definition based on population.)
The EBC continues to hold a limited number of properties in the central core of the city, mainly to spur commercial development, and it also holds the bonds and leases for the public parking garage constructed to serve The Doubletree by Hilton hotel and the future Multi-Institutional Academic Health, Science, Education & Research Campus.
