SPECIAL OPERATIONS & PLANNING

Special Operations coordinates the activities of the Evansville Fire Department (EFD) Hazardous Materials, Dive, Rope, Confined Space, and Technical Rescue Teams. The Planning Section assists the Chief in developing and managing significant planning initiatives as directed or required.

The Evansville Fire Department also works in close collaboration with a wide range of public safety partners to develop Safety and Security Incident Action Plans for major events. These partners include the Evansville Police Department, Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, Vanderburgh County Suburban Fire Departments, Evansville-Vanderburgh Central Dispatch, Vanderburgh County Emergency Management Agency, the Indiana National Guard 53rd Civil Support Team, and other state and federal agencies.
