Vanderburgh County Auditor 

The Auditor's Office is the very heartbeat of county government. Every county office deals directly with the Auditor's Office on a regular basis to obtain important financial and tax-related information.

The Auditor literally keeps the books for county government. It is the Auditor's goal that this information be timely, accurate, and easily accessible to the public.

Public Announcements:

Transfer Fee (Plat Book Fee) Effective July 1, 2019. Pursuant to County Code 3.05.010 and IC 36-2-9-18 (HEA 1427) the Vanderburgh County Auditor shall collect a fee of Ten Dollars ($10.00) for each legal description of each parcel contained in the DEED for which the County Auditor makes a real property endorsement.  This does not apply to government entities.  This is an increase from the $5.00 previously charged.

2019 pay 2020 Tax Deductions The property tax exemption deadline is January 6, 2020. To be eligible for these deductions in 2020, persons must be the owner of their primary residence as of December 31, 2019.

The mobile home property tax exemption deadline is Monday, April 1, 2019. Click here for more information. 

The 2019 Tax Sale will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 9:30 AM in Room 301 of the Civic Center Complex.  Click here to go to the Tax Sale page for more information

2018 pay 2019 tax information is available on the Treasurer's website. Click here to go to the Treasurer's website to view the database for the 2018 taxes payable in 2019. Previous year's taxes will show at the bottom. Installments are due May 10 and November 12, 2019.

The Fall Tax Deadline is Tuesday, November 12, 2019.  The Spring Tax Deadline was Friday, May 10, 2019.  2018 pay 2019 tax information is available on the Treasurer's website.
